ECG Monitoring (Holter Monitoring)
Before the Procedure
- Take a shower before your appointment. Once the device has been attached, it must not get wet.
- Ensure that your chest is clean and dry.
(Do not apply creams, lotions, oils, or other topical products.) - To improve electrode adhesion, men may be advised to remove chest hair, if necessary.
- Inform your doctor about all medications you are currently taking.
(Do not discontinue any medication without your doctor's approval.)
During the Procedure
- Do not remove or wet the device.
- Continue your usual daily activities, unless your doctor advises otherwise.
- Keep a symptom diary and record:
- Chest pain
- Rapid heartbeat (palpitations)
- Dizziness
- Shortness of breath
- The time each symptom occurred and the activity you were performing
- Avoid strong electromagnetic fields, such as MRI scanners.
Exercise Stress Test (Treadmill Test)
Before the Procedure
- You must present a valid echocardiography report.
- An echocardiogram is considered valid if it was performed within the past month.
- It is recommended to bring your most recent medical documentation from your treating cardiologist, including:
- Primary diagnoses
- Current medication regimen
- Do not eat for 3–4 hours before the procedure.
(Drinking water is permitted.) - Avoid the following for 48 hours before the procedure:
- Alcohol
- Energy drinks
- Wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear.
- Certain medications (e.g., beta-blockers) may only be discontinued with your doctor's approval.
(Do not stop taking any medication on your own.)
Please Inform Your Doctor If You Have:
- Heart disease
- High or low blood pressure or other blood pressure-related conditions
- Any medications you are currently taking
During the Procedure
Immediately inform the medical staff if you experience:
- Chest pain
- Severe shortness of breath
- Dizziness
- General weakness
