The Department of Oncology and Hematology

Head of the Department - Tamar Melkadze

The Department of Oncology and Hematology offers treatment for oncological and hematological tumors in a comfortable and pleasant environment, where a team of professional doctors and nurses continuously cares for the well-being of the patients and provides high-quality, modern medical services in accordance with international standards.

Pharmacological therapy is one of the most important stages in the complex treatment of oncological diseases. The selection of treatment tactics and the choice of anti-cancer medication is strictly individualized for each patient and depends on factors such as:

  • Type of cancer
  • Localization
  • Spread
  • Disease stage
  • Previous treatments
  • General condition of the patient and their preferences.

Each patient's clinical case is discussed at a multidisciplinary team meeting, where the treatment strategy is decided collectively, with the consensus of specialists from various fields. Depending on the diagnosis, patients are prescribed chemotherapy, hormone therapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy.

The latest international protocols, regimens, and medications, which are updated and refined annually, enable us to improve both the recovery rates and the life expectancy of our patients.

Take advantage of the computed tomography service, supported by the latest equipment and experienced physicians.

The department has two spaces for medication infusions:

  • A large hall with 25 chairs, equipped with comfortable movable chairs and modern infusion systems.
  • Isolated individual rooms, equipped with comfortable chairs, internet, cable TV, and individual laptops, where patients have the opportunity to stay comfortably with their family members during the procedure.

For patients for whom hair loss is a significant psychological issue, we have the option to offer a special device that, in certain cases, minimizes the development of this side effect.

In the department, the preparation of medications for infusion is carried out by a pharmacist in an isolated space equipped according to international standards.

In the Department of Oncology and Hematology, treatment is provided in the day hospital setting, using the latest generation port systems for extended infusions, allowing the patient to move freely without restrictions. Relatively more serious patients have the opportunity to take advantage of our clinic's inpatient services.
