Olympus PowerSpiral Motorized Spiral Enteroscopy

The latest motorized enteroscope consists of a 168 cm long endoscope and is fully compatible with the Exera III endoscopy system. The PowerSpiral Enteroscope is similar to traditional endoscopes with a flexible tube, four-way maneuverability, high-quality imaging, optical image enhancement (NBI), a wide (3.2mm) accessory channel, and an independently separated irrigation channel.

The PowerSpiral Enteroscope is as it is equipped with a physician-controlled integrated motor that drives the moving spirals attached to the endoscope. This technological innovation revolutionized the procedure of enteroscopy. The new motorized spiral enteroscope fully penetrates the small intestine and allows the exam of the entire mucosa of the small intestine that until now was impossible. The technology also evaluates the resistance of the tissue and the bowel strain. This information is provided to the doctor through a special block so that he can correctly assess the progress of the procedure not damaging the tissue.
